Windows 11 24H2 Home and Pro Reach End of Update Support
Microsoft has issued a reminder that Windows 11 24H2 Home and Pro editions will no longer receive updates after October 13, 2026. This change affects devices running these editions, which are nearing the end of mainstream support under Microsoft's lifecycle policy.
The company is advising customers to upgrade to Windows 11 25H2, also known as the Windows 11 2025 Update, which was made generally available in September 2024 as a minor update. Devices running Windows 11 24H2 Home and Pro that are not managed by IT departments will automatically upgrade to Windows 11 25H2.
Customers can check for the update by selecting Settings > Windows Update and checking for updates. If their device is ready, they'll see the option to download and install Windows 11, version 25H2.
