Windows 11 26H2 Revamps Taskbar and Start Menu
Microsoft has finally delivered on its promise to improve Windows 11's performance, reliability, and user experience. The latest update, Windows 11 26H2, brings back features that were missing from the original launch, such as a vertical taskbar and a more granular Start menu.
The new update addresses one of the major complaints about Windows 11: the redesign of the desktop. Users can now pin apps to the left or right side of the screen, freeing up precious space on modern laptop panels and ultra-wide monitors.
Additionally, the Start menu has been revamped to allow for more customization and control over what appears in it. Users can now resize the taskbar and Start menu to their liking, eliminating unnecessary clutter and improving overall performance.
The update is available as an enablement package (eKB) that users can download directly from Microsoft's servers. This update does not require a full operating system overhaul, making it quick and painless to install.
