Windows 11 26H2 Update: Fixing Delayed Features and Resetting Support Clock
Microsoft has released its Windows 11 26H2 update, which fixes long-awaited features for PCs that were delayed in the past year. The update enables the enhancements and resets the support clock, making it mandatory to install by October 2027 to continue receiving security updates.
The new update is available now for eligible devices running Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 24H2, but may not be offered immediately through Windows Update due to Microsoft's controlled feature rollout process. PC owners can force the update by going to Settings > Windows Update and clicking 'Get the latest updates as soon as they're available.'
The 26H2 update doesn't add new features, but rather enables the enhancements that were previously delayed. Some of the notable changes include a movable taskbar, an option to turn off Bing in the Start menu, more customization options for the taskbar and Start menu, and a quieter widgets experience.
