Windows 11 Audio Bug Causes Apps and Games to Crash
Microsoft has confirmed that some apps and games on Windows 11 may crash unexpectedly due to an issue with Dolby Digital audio decoding. The problem affects users who have installed the KB5124010 update or later versions, including Windows 11 26H2, 25H2, and 24H2.
The bug causes apps and games that rely on Windows' built-in audio decoding to crash when playing music or using certain audio features. According to Microsoft, this issue is separate from the USB audio bug reported in September, which caused some audio devices to stop producing sound.
Microsoft has promised a fix for the issue but did not provide a release date. The company stated that it will provide an update when more information becomes available.
