Windows 11 Gets Long Overdue Battery Widget

Microsoft is reportedly working on a new widget for Windows 11 that will display the battery percentages of laptops and their connected accessories in one place. The feature, discovered by a user on Discord, includes light and dark designs for the Widgets board and strings indicating it could be placed on the lock screen.

The current implementation allows users to see the remaining charge of supported Bluetooth devices within the Settings app or Quick Settings, but this information is buried and not easily accessible. Microsoft's proposed widget would solve this issue by displaying every device in a vertical list, starting with the laptop itself and followed by connected accessories.

This new feature has drawn comparisons to Apple's macOS-inspired design, which already includes battery widgets for laptops and their accessories. Windows 11 can be improved with this addition, as users often struggle to keep track of multiple devices' batteries while on the go.
