Windows 11 Optimizations Won't Make Low-RAM Laptops Copilot-Capable

Microsoft has been working on optimizations for Windows 11 to run more efficiently on systems with 8GB RAM. However, these improvements won't include making lower-tier RAM machines compatible with Copilot+ features.

Leaked specifications of laptops belonging to Lenovo reveal that 8GB configurations are labeled as non-Copilot capable. The laptops in question are part of the IdeaPad Slim series and come equipped with AMD's Ryzen AI processors.

The laptop manufacturers use soldered memory since LPDDR5X chips aren't available in the SODIMM form factor, making it unlikely that Lenovo will bring LPCAMM2 to its entry-level notebook range. Despite this limitation, Microsoft is still committed to bringing a long list of improvements to Windows 11.
