Windows 11 Update Brings Memory Optimizations, But Low-RAM Systems Left Behind
The latest Windows 11 update, version 26H2, has started rolling out to millions of users worldwide. Early adopters are reporting improvements in memory usage, but there's a catch: only systems with more than 8GB of RAM seem to benefit from these optimizations.
On Reddit, some users have shared their experiences with the update. One user, 'shutter_singh', has 48GB of RAM and reported a 2GB reduction in RAM usage after installing the update. However, another Redditor, 'HenryDaGodzilla', who uses an 8GB system, saw no change in memory consumption.
Microsoft's latest update aims to address Windows 11's notorious memory efficiency issues. The company has been working on optimizing the operating system for lower-end hardware configurations. While progress is being made, it appears that systems with less than 16GB of RAM are still not seeing significant improvements.
