Windows 11 Update Brings New Bugs, Not Fixes

The latest Windows 11 update, version 26H2, has been released, but it's not without its issues. According to Microsoft, the new update shares the same underlying code and servicing branch as previous versions, which means that bugs present in Windows 11 25H2 or 24H2 will still be present.

One of the most significant problems is a bug that causes audio to fail on some PCs, making it impossible for users to adjust volume settings or hear any sound. This issue has been linked to USB Audio Class 1.0 devices and can cause Device Manager to throw an error message stating 'Device cannot start.'

Another problem affects enterprise PCs, causing sign-in issues due to Credential Guard-protected machine accounts losing their secure channel. This can prevent users from signing in even with valid domain credentials.

The third issue is more specific and only affects Azure Virtual Desktop hosts, causing a black screen or desktop loading problems. Microsoft has acknowledged these issues and promised to release future updates to patch them.
