Windows 11 Update KB5121003 Resolves Game Launch Failures Caused by Third-Party Hardware
The latest cumulative security update for Windows 11 versions 25H2 and 24H2, KB5121003, has resolved issues related to game launch failures. The problem was caused by RGB-lighting peripherals or internal components that installed drivers with names such as inpoutx64.
Microsoft's investigation concluded that Windows updates did not cause the failures. Instead, they were related to third-party hardware and software components that interacted with the operating system in an incompatible way.
The company has implemented a compatibility block that prevents the inpoutx64 driver from loading on targeted devices where the driver is enabled and ARC Raiders is installed. The safeguard will be included in September 2026 security updates and later updates.
