Windows 11 Updates Resolve Game Crash Issues, Introduce New Features

Microsoft has released new cumulative security updates for Windows 11, addressing various issues and vulnerabilities. The latest update, KB5121000, moves version 26H1 to OS build 28000.2704, while KB5121003 advances versions 25H2 and 24H2 to builds 26200.9168 and 26100.9168 respectively.

The updates also resolve a known issue with game launch failures tied to the inpoutx64 driver, which was previously thought to be caused by Windows updates. Microsoft has confirmed that the issue was not caused by their software but rather by certain RGB-lighting peripherals or internal components.

In addition to the security updates, Microsoft has released optional previews for versions 25H2 and 24H2, known as KB5120998 and KB5120996 respectively. These previews introduce new features such as taskbar placement and sizing controls, Start layout adjustments, and a Search setting for web and Microsoft Store suggestions.

However, users have reported an issue with customized mouse cursors becoming larger white cursors and losing animation settings after installing the optional preview. Microsoft is currently investigating this issue and has not yet provided a resolution.
