Windows 11 Version 26H2 Brings Zero New Features, Another Full Support Cycle
Microsoft has released Windows 11 version 26H2, but it's not bringing any major changes to the table. In fact, our hands-on testing shows that it essentially contains nothing new.
The update arrived on August 27, 2026, as build 26300.9278 and is available for download in the Release Preview Channel. However, it's worth noting that this version will not be widely available until September or October of this year, with a wider rollout expected by the end of the year or early 2027.
One of the main reasons Microsoft released Windows 11 version 26H2 is to give users another full support cycle. This means that users can expect to receive updates and security patches for another year, which is especially important for businesses and organizations that rely on Windows for their operations.
