Windows 365 Reserve Gets User-Initiated Provisioning Boost

Microsoft has introduced user-initiated provisioning for Windows 365 Reserve, allowing eligible employees to provision their own Cloud PCs when needed. This new capability is designed to accelerate access to reserve cloud environments and reduce reliance on IT administrators for final provisioning.

In the past, organizations adopting cloud PCs often faced delays when employees needed temporary or replacement devices. Traditional provisioning workflows required IT administrators to manually assign and configure resources, creating additional workload and slowing user access to computing environments.

The feature enables users to provision their own Cloud PCs while maintaining governance and compliance requirements. However, organizations must balance user autonomy with centralized IT control, ensuring that policies remain in place for resource management and oversight.
