Winnipeg Reduces Hours on National Day for Truth and Reconciliation
Winnipeg residents can expect reduced hours and closures on September 30th as the city observes the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. This day honors the children who never returned home from residential schools, as well as their families and communities.

Individual stores may have different hours.
Major grocery stores like Costco, Manitoba Liquor Marts, Walmart, Superstore, Safeway/Sobeys, Save-on-Foods, Co-Op Grocery Stores, Home Depot, and RONA will remain open with regular or reduced hours. However, IKEA Winnipeg will be open from 10:00am, 6:00pm.
The City of Winnipeg's civic offices will be closed on September 30th. Recycling, garbage, and yard waste collection will continue as normally scheduled for residents whose regular collection day is Wednesday. The Brady Road Resource Management Facility (Brady Road Landfill) will operate from 5:30am, 8:00pm.
