Wish Flight Takes Off: American Airlines Partners with Disney and Make-A-Wish
American Airlines collaborated with Make-A-Wish and Disney to host Wish Flight, a unique travel experience for children battling critical illnesses.
The milestone trip brought 14 Philadelphia-area families to Walt Disney World Resort. The journey began at Philadelphia International Airport, where American team members and Make-A-Wish volunteers gave the wish families a memorable sendoff with themed decorations, special surprises, and a charter aircraft staffed by volunteer pilots and flight attendants.
The children enjoyed various activities, including a slime station, face-painting, balloon art, and a dance floor with a special appearance by SWOOP, the Philadelphia Eagles' mascot. The families were also gifted Disney ear headbands.
American Airlines Director of Partnerships and Community Griffin Gonzalez stated, 'For 100 years, American has been committed to caring for people on life's journey, and Wish Flight is a powerful example of that purpose in action.'
