Woman Steals Wallet, Makes ₹27k in Credit Card Purchases
Ravindra Yadav, a resident of Tragad, had a wallet stolen from him at a coffee shop in Ahmedabad on September 26.
While sitting at the café, Yadav received a phone call and stepped outside to speak, leaving his bag on the table. Unbeknownst to him, an unidentified woman allegedly approached the table, placed her own bag next to his, and took his wallet, which contained ₹15,000 in cash and an American Express credit card.
The incident was captured on the coffee shop's CCTV cameras. Yadav later returned to his car and checked his belongings, only to find that his wallet was missing. He then reviewed the CCTV footage and found that a woman had allegedly taken the wallet from his bag.
He also discovered that the credit card had subsequently been used to make purchases worth around ₹27,000 at different locations. Yadav approached Navrangpura police and lodged a complaint regarding the theft of his cash and credit card. Police have registered a case and are taking further action to identify the woman.
