Xbox Cloud Gaming Time Limits: Microsoft Imposes Caps on Game Pass Subscribers

Microsoft is imposing time limits on its cloud gaming feature for Xbox Game Pass subscribers. Starting in November, users will face monthly caps of 5 to 15 hours depending on their plan.

The limitations apply to Game Pass Ultimate (15 hours), Game Pass Premium (10 hours), and Game Pass Essential (5 hours). Subscribers who exceed the cap will need to pay an additional fee through the Xbox Store.

According to Microsoft, this change is necessary due to the growing cost of providing cloud gaming. The company expects only 4% of subscribers to be impacted by the time limits.

The new option allows non-subscribers to buy hours for cloud gaming, letting them stream eligible games they own on supported devices.
