Xbox Layoffs Continue: Hundreds Expected to be Affected in Latest Round
Microsoft is reportedly planning another round of Xbox layoffs today, which could affect hundreds of employees. According to The Verge's Tom Warren, the cuts are part of a larger plan to reduce the number of Xbox jobs by 3,200 by the end of June 2027.
This would be the second major layoff in the gaming division this year, following a July announcement that affected around 1,600 people. The company is also reportedly consolidating several of its game studios as part of the restructuring effort.
Gaming insider NateTheHate has claimed that parts of the Halo franchise will move under Activision Blizzard as a result of the reorganization. However, Microsoft has not confirmed this report and has not provided further details on which studios could be affected or how the changes will work.
