Xbox Slashes Hundreds More Jobs Amid Studio Consolidation Plans

Xbox's new CEO Asha Sharma is continuing her plan to 'reset' the business and return it to growth, but this time through a wave of layoffs that could affect hundreds more employees.

The consolidation of several game studios is reportedly part of these cuts, with plans for mergers or movement within Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, Activision, and Blizzard. This news comes just after the company's first major staff reduction in July, which affected 1,600 jobs.

A source briefed on Microsoft's plans told The Information that hundreds more employees will be laid off this week, following a previous wave of cuts that spared Blizzard.
