YouTube Brings Amazon Affiliate Shopping Directly to Native Product Tags
YouTube has expanded its creator-commerce tools by integrating Amazon's affiliate shopping program directly into its Shopping Affiliate Program. This move allows eligible U.S. creators to recommend Amazon products through native product tags, making it easier for viewers to shop from YouTube content.
The integration is currently available to creators in the United States who meet the requirements, including enrollment in the YouTube Partner Program and an active Amazon Associates or Amazon Influencer account. Once connected, creators can use YouTube's product-tagging tools to add eligible Amazon products to their content across Shorts, long-form videos, livestreams, and more.
YouTube reports that an internal experiment found that videos using native product tags generated over 110% more product clicks than those relying on links in descriptions. However, the company has not publicly detailed the full methodology behind this figure.
The integration also gives creators access to Amazon-related performance information through YouTube Studio, but with some limitations. Creators can see their overall daily Amazon affiliate earnings, clicks, and sales, but individual video or product-level attribution is currently not available.
