Zacks Podcast Marks 500 Episodes, Highlights Top Stocks Amid Market Turbulence
The Zacks Market Edge podcast reached its 500th episode, and to celebrate, host Tracey Ryniec went solo. The show started in October 2015, during a bear market in oil. Over the years, Tracey has covered various market events, including new highs in the S&P 500, the COVID-19 pandemic, the Ukraine-Russia War, and the AI Revolution.
In its 300th episode, recorded on January 26, 2022, Zacks Senior Strategist Kevin Cook joined Tracey to discuss five stocks. These included ExxonMobil, JPMorgan Chase, NVIDIA, PayPal, and Block. Excluding the two payment companies, the other three stocks have performed well in 2026.
Tracey recorded her thoughts on buying NVIDIA in 2022 due to 'weakness' in its shares. This turned out to be a good call as the company's earnings grew by 59.5% and are expected to grow another 93.5% in fiscal 2027. Sales are also expected to soar another 88% this fiscal year.
ExxonMobil is an integrated global energy company with expected earnings growth of 70.7% in 2026 due to higher oil prices and refining crack spreads. JPMorgan Chase, one of America's largest banks, has a P/E ratio of 14.1 and a P/B ratio of 2.6, which is high for a bank.
