Zillow Defeats Class Action Lawsuit Over Data Sharing with Microsoft
Zillow Group Inc., a leading real estate marketplace, has successfully defended itself against a proposed class action lawsuit alleging it shared consumer data with Microsoft Corp. without consent.
According to court documents, two of the named plaintiffs lacked standing to bring claims in federal court, while the other two failed to adequately plead claims of intrusion upon seclusion under Washington law or violations of the Washington Privacy Act.
Judge James L. Robart made this ruling on Wednesday, dismissing the consolidated complaint filed in the US District Court for the Western District of Washington.
