Zscaler IBM and Red Hat Collaborate to Secure Private Applications
Zscaler has teamed up with IBM and Red Hat to bolster security for private applications during the critical window between vulnerability disclosure and patch deployment. The collaboration integrates Zscaler's Autonomous Application Shield with Lightwell, a solution designed to protect applications while fixes are being developed and applied.
Gunnar Hellekson, vice president and general manager of Lightwell at Red Hat, highlighted the urgency of this collaboration, noting that artificial intelligence is drastically reducing the time between vulnerability discovery and exploitation. He pointed out that this gap has shrunk from weeks or months to mere hours or minutes.
Autonomous Application Shield provides application-specific protections through the Zscaler Zero Trust Exchange, while Lightwell offers validated fixes for affected open-source software. This approach ensures that customers can address vulnerabilities at the source. The collaboration encompasses exposure discovery, application-specific protection, real-time deployment of controls, and source-level remediation.
Currently, Autonomous Application Shield is available through an Early Access Program, with the understanding that the collaboration's capabilities, availability, and timing may evolve.
