$100 Oil: Experts Weigh In on Energy Market Shifts
The price of oil has surged above $100 a barrel, and refining margins have reached new heights. This shift in the global energy market is causing investors to re-evaluate their portfolios.
John Stephenson, founder of Granite Point Research, and Elliott Gue, editor and publisher of Energy and Income Advisor, shared their insights on this topic during a recent MoneyShow MoneyMasters Podcast episode.
The pair discussed the outlook for oil, natural gas, and LNG supply, demand, and prices. They also touched on the growing importance of natural gas as US electricity demand increases and LNG export capacity grows.
According to Stephenson, energy stocks haven't risen as dramatically as crude oil due to various factors, including refining industry crack spreads. Gue noted that while $200 oil is not yet a reality, natural gas could become increasingly important in the market.
