ADNOC to Supply 2 Million Tonnes of LNG to Thailand Starting 2027
ADNOC has signed a multi-year agreement with Gulf Group to supply up to 2 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Thailand, starting in 2027. The deal was facilitated by ADNOC's LNG marketing and trading platform, reinforcing its global gas growth strategy. Nasser Al Muhairi, Acting CEO of ADNOC Downstream Industry, Marketing & Trading, highlighted that this agreement strengthens ADNOC’s commitment to reliable energy supplies in Asia.
The agreement extends a partnership between ADNOC and Gulf Group, which began with their first LNG supply agreement in 2025. Sarath Ratanavadi, CEO of Gulf Development Public Company Limited, emphasized that the deal supports Gulf Group’s strategy of building a resilient LNG portfolio and strengthening its value chain to meet growing energy demand.
ADNOC launched its global LNG marketing and trading platform in July 2026, integrating its LNG marketing and trading capabilities. The platform aims to enhance flexibility and shipping optionality, positioning ADNOC as a leading global LNG player with a target of 47 million tonnes per annum of marketable LNG beyond 2030. ADNOC Trading, which handles LNG trading activities, has established a significant third-party LNG portfolio within four years.
Gulf Group, a leading Thai energy and infrastructure conglomerate, is committed to the global energy transition with targets to reduce carbon intensity and achieve net-zero emissions by 2050. The company aims to increase the proportion of renewable energy in its portfolio to 40% by 2035.
