ADNOC to Supply 2 Million Tonnes of LNG to Thailand Under New Deal
Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) has strengthened its long-term energy partnership with Gulf Group, Thailand’s leading energy and infrastructure conglomerate. The companies signed a multi-year Sales and Purchase Agreement (SPA) for the supply of up to 2 million tonnes of liquefied natural gas (LNG) to Thailand, with deliveries set to begin in 2027.
The agreement builds on an earlier LNG supply deal signed in 2025 and underscores ADNOC’s commitment to ensuring reliable energy supplies to Asian markets. Nasser Al Muhairi, Acting CEO of ADNOC Downstream Industry, Marketing & Trading, highlighted the milestone as part of ADNOC’s integrated global gas growth strategy, enhancing flexibility and optionality in LNG solutions.
Gulf Group’s CEO, Sarath Ratanavadi, emphasized how the deal aligns with the company’s strategy of a diversified LNG portfolio. By securing midstream infrastructure and shipping capacity, Gulf Group aims to strengthen its value chain and meet growing energy demand while supporting regional energy transitions.
ADNOC launched its global LNG marketing and trading platform in July 2026, consolidating its LNG marketing and trading capabilities. The platform aims to target 47 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) of marketable LNG beyond 2030, positioning ADNOC as a leading global LNG player. ADNOC Trading, which manages the LNG trading activities, has built a significant third-party LNG portfolio and is ranked among the top global LNG financial traders.
