Agnico Eagle Mines Delivers Strong Q2 Results Amid Record Gold Prices
Agnico Eagle Mines (TSX:AEM), a senior gold producer listed on both the Toronto and New York exchanges, has delivered strong second-quarter results for 2026.
The company's payable gold production of 855,816 ounces was broadly steady against 866,029 ounces in the same quarter of 2025. Net income rose sharply to $1,600.5 million, or $3.19 per share, from $1,068.7 million, or $2.13 per share, a year earlier.
The significant increase in net income was driven by the realised gold price, which jumped by well over a thousand dollars an ounce to $4,483 per ounce. Agnico's leverage to the metal, combined with its mine portfolio anchored in stable jurisdictions, positions it as a Canadian standard-bearer for gold investors.
