Agricultural Markets See Mixed Results Amid Rebound in Cattle Futures
The agricultural markets saw mixed results on August 27, 2026, according to the Pro Farmer After the Bell report. Hogs declined, while cattle and feeder cattle futures experienced a rebound after hitting eight-month lows on Wednesday.
The lean hog futures market fell $0.275 to $80.625, near its daily low. In contrast, October live cattle rose $2.15 to $212.925, nearing mid-range. November feeder cattle also rose $3.975 to $311.475, staying close to mid-range.
The corn futures market saw a pause in the bull run, with December corn falling 3 cents to $5.33 1/2, near mid-range. However, soybeans and meal futures experienced solid buying interest, with November soybeans rising 2 cents to $12.68, hitting another contract high.
Cotton futures saw significant gains on the day, with December cotton rising 327 points to 92.41 cents, nearing its daily high and hitting a contract high. The market attributed this rise to bullish charts and scorching hot weather in southern Plains cotton regions.
