Alamos Gold Posts Solid Q2 Results Despite Challenges
Alamos Gold reported its financial results for the quarter ended June 30, 2026. The company produced 130,600 ounces of gold in the second quarter, meeting its revised quarterly guidance and a 5% increase from the first quarter.
The Island Gold District had a solid quarter with record underground mining rates, milling rates, and production. However, lower than expected production from Mulatos and Young-Davidson offset these gains. The company is expecting lower mining rates at Young-Davidson in the second half of 2026 due to a seismic event in June.
Despite this, Alamos Gold's President and Chief Executive Officer, John A. McCluskey, remains optimistic about the company's prospects. He stated that 'we expect stronger production and significantly lower costs in 2027 driven by improved results from Young-Davidson, as well as low-cost growth from the Island Gold District.'
The company generated strong free cash flow of $143.5 million in the second quarter, with quarterly revenues of $594.1 million. Alamos Gold also repurchased and eliminated all remaining 2026 legacy gold hedges inherited from Argonaut, providing further upside to higher gold prices.
