Albania Joins Argent's Regional LNG Supply Hub Plans
Argent LNG has signed a non-binding memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Albania's government to develop an onshore liquefied natural gas (LNG) storage and regasification terminal. The proposed terminal, which would have a capacity of up to 5 million metric tons per annum (MMtpa), aims to serve as a regional supply hub for Western Balkans and Southeastern Europe.
The project will enable the reception, storage, and regasification of LNG for distribution into neighboring markets. It is expected to connect with existing pipelines such as the Trans Adriatic Pipeline (TAP) and Ionian Adriatic Pipeline (IAP).
Argent's infrastructure could also support gas deliveries to Ukraine through reverse-flow and other regional market arrangements, building on previous MoUs signed with Naftogaz Group in July and Transgaz in August.
