Anglo American reported a strong production and cost performance in the six months to June 30, driven by a favorable copper price. The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation (EBITDA) increased by 35% to $4 billion during the period.

The resources and agricultural nutrients group is currently undergoing a merger with Teck Resources, with CEO Duncan Wanblad stating that they are 'unlocking the full potential' of Anglo American. The company has made significant progress in its portfolio optimisation, including the sale of Steelmaking Coal for up to $3.875 billion in cash.

Net debt decreased to $8.2 billion from $8.6 billion at December 31, 2025, and an interim dividend of $0.23 per share was declared. Wanblad attributed the good results to operational excellence, inflationary pressures, and the realisation of run-rate cost-out programme benefits delivered in 2025.
