The National Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) in Moldova is considering revising the natural gas tariff due to rising international market prices. Director Constantin Borosan stated that if current trends persist, the agency will reassess the tariff, which currently stands at 20.03 lei per cubic meter of natural gas.

The increase in spot market activity has led to higher prices, with a recent price reaching around 82 euros per megawatt-hour. This is significantly higher than the average purchase price of 54 euros used for setting the tariff from August to December.

According to Borosan, global events such as the escalating situation in the Middle East are affecting energy supply and trade routes, contributing to the rising prices.
