Binance CEO Richard Teng has responded to a $61 million US Department of Justice (DOJ) case, stating that the civil action does not target Binance or allege wrongdoing by the exchange.

The DOJ seeks forfeiture of approximately $61 million in cryptocurrency allegedly linked to sanctioned Iranian oil sales. The funds were intended to support Iran and military-linked entities, including the IRGC, according to prosecutors.

Teng said that Binance has zero tolerance for sanctions violations or illicit activity and has already investigated accounts connected to Blessed Trust and Hexa Whale, two companies named by US authorities as part of the alleged network. He also stated that the exchange freezes or restricts accounts when its teams identify sanctions risks.
