Moldova's Energy Regulatory Agency (ANRE) has raised the tariff for natural gas for domestic consumers to 20.30 lei per 1 cubic meter, including 5% VAT.

The new tariff will enter into force on September 1, 2026, following a decision made by ANRE last Friday.

The regulator cited an increase in the cost of natural gas purchases as the main factor that led to the need to raise the gas tariff. The costs were affected by risks associated with the conflict in the Middle East, the approach of the cold season, and increased demand for natural gas due to the need to replenish reserves.

ANRE noted that maintaining current gas tariffs would lead to further accumulation of significant losses (negative deviations) for a supplier with obligations to provide public services.
