Anthropic Eyes November IPO Amid AI Safety Scrutiny
Artificial intelligence model maker Anthropic is reportedly considering launching its initial public offering (IPO) as soon as mid-November. This would allow the company to begin trading before the Thanksgiving holiday, according to Bloomberg News. The potential listing comes amid increased competition from OpenAI and scrutiny of AI safety.
Anthropic's valuation is expected to be between $1.8 trillion and $2 trillion, matching or exceeding the size of SpaceX's IPO, according to previous reporting. The company reported a net loss of almost $42 billion in 2025, compared with about $8.3 billion in 2024.
Gold prices rose amid softer US inflation data, which reduced expectations for an October Federal Reserve rate hike. The market-implied probability of a rate hike dropped to 31%, from 45% before the release and 69% a week earlier.
Oil prices jumped more than 4% as concerns over global fuel supplies intensified, with December Brent futures settling at $102.46 a barrel, up 4.54%. US Treasury yields pulled back after reaching multi-decade highs, easing four basis points to 5.234%.
