APEDA Facilitates Export of Frozen Food Products from Haryana to Canada
The Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) played a key role in facilitating the export of frozen food products from Haryana to Canada. On October 1, 2026, a shipment of 24 MT of frozen food products was flagged off from Sonipat, Haryana, marking another step towards expanding international market opportunities for Indian processed food products.
The consignment, exported by Aterna Foods Producer Company Limited, included 2,295 boxes of frozen food products with a total value of CAD 35,140. The shipment comprised green peas, mixed vegetables, peas and carrots, sweet corn, samosa, among other products.
APEDA supported the exporting unit under its Financial Assistance Scheme, highlighting the growing role of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) in developing export-oriented value chains. By linking agricultural produce with processing and international markets, the FPO-led model can support improved returns for producers and strengthen their participation in the export value chain.
Chairman APEDA, Shri Abhishek Dev, congratulated the exporter and stakeholders on this achievement, noting that direct exports by FPOs would significantly enhance value realisation for the producers. He expressed optimism about expanding exports to the Canadian market.
