Arizona Gas Prices Skyrocket Amidst National Fuel Crisis
Gas prices in Arizona have risen significantly over the past month, with an average price of $4.78 per gallon as of this week. This is a 13-cent increase from last week and a 28-cent increase compared to last month.
The national trend shows that pump prices rose nearly 5 cents over the past week to hit $4.48 per gallon, marking the highest national average ever recorded for this time of year.
According to David Caltabiano, spokesperson for AAA Mountain West Group, 'Typically, the start of autumn brings lower gas prices, but lingering volatility in the Strait of Hormuz and the high cost of crude oil are driving up pump prices.'
The average price of regular gasoline has risen by $1.20 compared to this time last year.
In Arizona, metro Phoenix and northern Arizona have seen significant price spikes, with Scottsdale at $4.97 per gallon and Flagstaff at $4.86 per gallon.
