Arrests Near US Bomber Base Amid Iran Oil Crisis

Five men were arrested near RAF Fairford in the UK after police received a report about three suspicious vehicles traveling towards the airbase.

The men were initially detained on suspicion of offences under the Explosives Act and later held on suspicion of preparing a terrorist act under Section 5 of the Terrorism Act.

Army bomb-disposal specialists were deployed to examine the vehicles, while a 400-metre cordon was established. Around 85 homes in nearby Whelford were evacuated as a precaution.
