Asia Regains Advantage Over Europe in Flexible LNG Cargoes
Asia has reclaimed its premium over Europe in the competition for flexible US liquefied natural gas (LNG) cargoes, as mild weather across both regions holds back early-season heating demand.
Mild forecasts across Europe and a warmer outlook for North Asia are contributing to the reduced need for heating, allowing Asian buyers to pull ahead of their European counterparts in securing US LNG shipments.
The trend is expected to continue through mid-week, as tropical Storm Choi-Wan strengthens near Guam but poses little threat to global energy markets.
