Asian Shares Mixed Amid US Stock Market Volatility
Asian shares were mixed on Friday after the US stock market fell back, while oil prices rebounded. U.S. stock futures added to their gains following a government report that employers unexpectedly cut 23,000 jobs last month.
Futures for the S&P 500 rose 0.5%, and Dow Jones Industrial Average futures gained 0.33%. Bond yields dropped sharply, with the yield on the 10-year Treasury falling to 4.60% from 4.67% just before the report was issued.
The mixed performance of global shares was reflected in various markets. Germany's DAX rose 1%, while Tokyo's Nikkei 225 lost 0.1% to 65,606.71.
