Aya Gold & Silver Doubles Down on Morocco's Boumadine Project Value
Canada-based mining company Aya Gold & Silver has significantly increased the estimated value of its Boumadine project in Morocco. The updated preliminary economic assessment puts the after-tax net value at $3.5 billion, up from an earlier estimate.
The revised figure is attributed to soaring gold and silver prices on international markets. At current prices, the project's internal rate of return stands at 93%, with a payback period of just over 0.7 years.
Aya Gold & Silver holds an 85% stake in the joint venture, with Morocco's national mining office, ONHYM, holding the remaining 15%. The Boumadine project covers a vast area of 339 km², with an additional 600 km² under exploration authorization.
