Azerbaijan's Wheat Imports Surge in First Eight Months

Azerbaijan's wheat imports rose significantly in the first eight months of this year. According to data from the State Customs Committee, the country imported 841,677.9 tons of wheat worth $185.174 million between January and August 2026.

This represents a 10.7% increase in volume compared to the same period last year, with the value of imports rising by 13.2%. The total cost of wheat imports accounted for just 1.6% of Azerbaijan's overall import expenditures during this time.

The country's foreign trade turnover reached $33.238 billion in the first eight months of the year, including $21.815 billion in exports and $11.423 billion in imports.
