B.C. Government Admits Errors in Gas Revenue Forecasts
The British Columbia government has confirmed that errors in its gas revenue forecasts have resulted in an overstatement of $1.46 billion over five fiscal years.
The errors, which included botched currency conversions, were attributed to human error and not the actual revenues, which can vary due to price fluctuations.
Energy Minister Adrian Dix stated that the most significant error was a 44-cent overstatement in the forecasted per-gigajoule price of natural gas this fiscal year.
