Bajus Boosts Gold Price by Tk1,633 Amid Ongoing Market Revisions

The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has increased the price of gold in the domestic market, effective from 10am on July 21. The new rate of 22-carat gold is Tk2,21,441 per bhori, including value-added tax (VAT). This decision comes after two consecutive cuts and marks the 92nd revision in gold prices so far this year.

Bajus had last adjusted gold prices on July 14, when the rate of 22-carat gold, including VAT, was cut by Tk2,158 to Tk2,19,808 per bhori. Despite the recent increase, gold prices have been revised more times this year than decreased - with 44 increases and 47 decreases.

The price of silver remains unchanged, at Tk4,607 per bhori for 22-carat silver, Tk4,374 for 21-carat, Tk3,791 for 18-carat, and Tk2,858 per bhori for traditional silver. Bajus' existing rules on ornament exchange and repurchase will remain unchanged.
