Baker Hughes Partners to Boost Venezuela’s Natural Gas and LNG Potential
Baker Hughes, a leading US energy services firm, has announced two strategic agreements aimed at revitalizing Venezuela’s energy infrastructure and expanding its production capabilities. The company signed a partnership with PDVSA, Lindsayca, and Fulcrum LNG in Caracas to enhance the country’s natural gas infrastructure. This alliance focuses on developing an integrated gas value chain, which could transform Venezuela’s substantial natural gas resources into reliable domestic supply and potential export opportunities, including the country’s first LNG exports.
In addition, Baker Hughes signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with New Stratus Energy to support the development of future oil and gas prospects. Together, these agreements create a framework that connects upstream resource development, midstream infrastructure, gas monetization, and LNG commercialization, unlocking Venezuela’s significant natural gas potential.
Lorenzo Simonelli, chairman and CEO of Baker Hughes, emphasized the importance of these partnerships. He stated that Venezuela has the potential to become a key player in the global energy landscape, offering world-class resource opportunities, project development, energy infrastructure, technologies, and financing expertise.
