Bangladesh Gold Prices Rise by Up to 1,050 Taka per Bhori

The Bangladesh Jewelers Association (BAJUS) announced an increase in gold prices in the local bullion market on Saturday, September 12, 2026. According to the new price, the highest quality 22-carat gold (11.664 grams) per bhori has been increased by 1,050 taka, from the previous price of 2,31,880 taka to the new price of 2,32,930 taka.

The prices for other types of gold have also been adjusted: 21-carat gold per bhori has been increased by 1,050 taka, from the previous price of 2,21,441 taka to the new price of 2,22,491 taka. Similarly, the price of 18-carat gold per bhori has been increased by 933 taka, from the previous price of 1,90,123 taka to the new price of 1,91,056 taka.

Traditional (Sonaton) gold per bhori has also seen an increase, with a rise of 758 taka, from the previous price of 1,55,306 taka to the new price of 1,56,064 taka. Buyers must pay more than the set price when purchasing gold jewelry due to additional charges such as a 5% VAT and a minimum making charge of BDT 3,500 per 'bhori'.
