Bangladesh Gold Prices Surge Again After Latest Hike

Gold prices in Bangladesh rose again on Thursday, August 20, just five days after the previous hike. The price of 22-carat gold increased by Tk 3,849 per bhori to Tk 240,628, including VAT, according to the Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS). This marks the second price hike in just five days.

The price of 21-carat gold rose by Tk 3,616 to Tk 229,781 per bhori, while 18-carat gold increased by Tk 3,149 to Tk 197,355. Traditional-method gold prices also went up by Tk 2,566 to Tk 161,196 per bhori.

Silver jewellery prices have also been affected, with the price of 22-carat silver rising by Tk 233 to Tk 5,307 per bhori, and 21-carat silver increasing by the same amount. The price of 18-carat silver has gone up by Tk 175 to Tk 4,374, and traditional-method silver has increased by Tk165 to Tk 3,324 per bhori.
