The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (BAJUS) has announced a price hike for gold and silver in Bangladesh. The new prices will be effective from 10:00 am on Tuesday, with 22-carat gold jewellery now costing Tk 235,146 per bhori (11.664 grams), up from Tk 234,038.

This increase is attributed to the rising prices of locally sourced Tejabi gold, according to BAJUS. The association previously raised gold prices by Tk 4,374 on August 8, just three days earlier.

The price hike affects not only 22-carat gold but also other categories: 21-carat gold is now Tk 224,590 per bhori (up from Tk 223,541), 18-carat gold is now Tk 192,864 per bhori (up from Tk 191,931), and Sanatani gold is now Tk 157,522 per bhori (up from Tk 156,822).

Silver jewellery prices have also been raised: 22-carat and 21-carat silver are now Tk 5,074 and Tk 4,841 per bhori respectively (up from Tk 4,899), 18-carat silver is now Tk 4,199 per bhori (up from Tk 4,024), and traditional silver is now Tk 3,159 per bhori (up from Tk 3,043).
