The Bangladesh Jewellers Association (Bajus) has increased gold prices in the local market for the first time in three rounds of cuts. The new price of 22-carat gold, inclusive of VAT, is Tk 232,930 per bhori, effective from 10 am on Saturday. This hike comes after a rise in the price of pure gold (tejabi gold) in the local market.

The association has adjusted prices for different types of gold as well: 21-carat gold will cost Tk 222,491, 18-carat gold Tk 191,056, and traditional (Sanatan) gold Tk 156,064 per bhori. VAT is already included in the sale price of gold and silver ornaments.

This adjustment brings the total number of gold price changes to 115 so far in 2026, with 57 hikes, 57 cuts, and one VAT adjustment.
