The long-dormant Taraku Mills in Benue State, Nigeria has begun test production of vegetable oil under the administration of Governor Hyacinth Alia. The test-run marks a significant milestone in efforts to revive the industrial facility, which was previously dormant.

BIPC's Group Managing Director, Dr Raymond Asemakaha, commended the governor for his commitment to reviving moribund industries across the state, saying 'We must take charge of moribund industries. We are ensuring that the dead balance sheet come back to life.'

The immediate objective of the test-run is to ensure Taraku Mills resumes production and begins supplying locally produced vegetable oil to consumers in Benue and beyond.
