Brent Crude Price Plummets Over 5% Amid Iran Diplomacy

The Brent crude price took a sharp dive of over 5% after the markets opened, plummeting to $86.80 per barrel. This sudden drop is largely attributed to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

Oil prices are often seen as a reflection of global fear and uncertainty. When news broke that the United States had paused its planned strikes against Iran to facilitate potential diplomatic negotiations through Oman, the risk premium on oil evaporated almost instantly.

This led to a sell-off in Brent crude futures for October, which dropped by roughly 5.24%. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) also felt the pinch, sliding down to $84.70.
